According to the Competence Centre on Technology Transfer of the European Commission: “Technology transfer (TT) refers to the process of conveying results stemming from scientific and technological research to the marketplace and to wider society, along with associated skills and procedures, and is as such an intrinsic part of the technological innovation process.”1 This generic definition covers all industries and doesn’t convey the progressive discovery stages of pharmaceuticals. Still, knowledge is a crucial concept for having a TT.
