Get ready for this year's ISPE premiere event—the 2025 ISPE Annual Meeting & Expo, taking place 26–29 October in Charlotte, North Carolina. This hybrid event brings together top professionals, designers, innovators, regulators, and engineers from around the globe.
The central theme this year is Pharma 4.0™, which will spotlight the end-to-end digital manufacturing landscape, including research and development, process engineering, compliance, and regulatory strategies. AI, machine learning, and automation are no longer just buzzwords—they’re driving real improvements in productivity and quality across the industry.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore new case studies and concepts, and learn from shared experiences. Beyond Pharma 4.0, there’s a lot of excitement around developments in ATMP, supply chain innovations, quality and regulatory tracks, sustainability, modular plants, and other future-focused topics. I'm especially eager to discover the lessons learned and new ideas that I can apply to my own projects to improve outcomes.
In addition to the educational sessions, the event offers incredible networking opportunities. With over 170 vendors and more than 200 speakers, there will be hackathons, vendor events, and a lively Tuesday night celebration. It’s a great chance to connect, collaborate, and have fun.
Of course, with all the festivities, you might be adding a few extra calories—so there are also opportunities to stay active, like a morning 5K run or walk. Don’t forget to visit the exhibition hall, where you’ll find ample chances to engage with vendors, learn, and build valuable partnerships.
This conference is more than just an event—it’s a chance to shape the future of our industry.

The pharmaceutical industry faces multiple challenges, including pressures to reduce the cost of drugs and shorten the time to market for drug development—all while ensuring the delivery of safe and effective medications to patients.
I'm truly excited about this year's event and its Pharma 4.0 theme. Pharma 4.0 is more than just digitizing operations; it also involves the cultural and process changes necessary to unlock its full potential. This strategy promotes operational efficiency, continuous improvement, increased flexibility, and improved compliance.
The 2025 ISPE Annual Meeting & Expo will feature presentations that offer insights into the practical requirements for implementing AI applications into GxP processes. It will also provide guidance and foster discussion around the cultural and organizational shifts needed to successfully adopt these technologies.
