Why Mentor ISPE?
Mentor ISPE is more than just a mentorship program; it’s a reimagining of the traditional mentor-mentee relationship. Designed by current Women in Pharma members, it fosters an environment of open communication and trust, encouraging all members within the pharmaceutical industry to apply for a mentor match.
This twelve-month program unites international groups, providing a platform for participants to learn from each other, grow both professionally and personally, and contribute to shaping the future of the pharmaceutical industry.
The Power of Collective Growth
ISPE’s mentor groups are composed of industry professionals and students, creating a dynamic blend of experience and fresh perspectives. These groups serve as a space for the exchange of ideas, the sharing of knowledge, and the discussion of common interests. The structure is designed to ensure that while senior professionals’ mentor the group, mid-level professionals, students and recent graduates also have the opportunity to contribute insights that are crucial for understanding the workforce of the future.
As Mentor ISPE approaches year three, ISPE continues to listen to the input of those participating in the program to ensure the Mentor ISPE team is providing a top quality experience. As a result, here are a few changes being made this year:
Group Structure Highlights:
- Senior professional as the mentor: The most experienced member leads the group
- Focus on relationship-building: The emphasis is on developing strong, supportive relationships
- Collective Learning: Groups are expected to summarize their discussions and focus areas
Program Changes:
- Introducing a group moderator: A moderator is being introduced in this program to facilitate cohesive and structured group mentoring; moderator will ensure to keep the group together and functioning
- Introducing confidentiality and code of ethics/conduct for mentoring/coaching programs
- Introducing guest speakers with expertise on their topics to speak, interact and share their insights and experiences with group members and answer their questions (anticipated: one or two sessions per year)
- ISPE will help coordinate the guest speakers with the group members
- Mentor ISPE core committee will increase their knowledge database by providing useful resources, tools and techniques supplementing the twelve-month program throughout the year
