  • Boundary Condition Testing

(IEEE) Testing for correct operation when one or more variables are at a limiting value or a value at the edge of the domain of interest.
  • Boundary Value

(IEEE) A data value that corresponds to a minimum or maximum input, internal, or output value specified for a system or component.
  • Boundary Value

A value which lies at, or just inside or just outside a specified range of valid input and output values.
  • Boundary Value Analysis

(NBS) A selection technique in which test data are chosen to lie along "boundaries" of the input domain (or output range) classes, data structures, procedure parameters, etc. Choices often include maximum, minimum, and trivial values or parameters. This technique is often called stress testing.
  • Boundary Value Testing

A testing technique using input values at, just below, and just above, the defined limits of an input domain; and with input values causing outputs to be at, just below, and just above, the defined limits of an output domain.
  • Bovine

Of, relating to, or from a cow: such as Bovine Blood: blood from a cow.
  • Bovine Growth Hormone

  • Bovine Somatotropin (BST) (also Bovine Somatotrophin)

Also known as bovine growth hormone, this protein is found naturally in cattle, and is the bovine counterpart of human growth hormone, one of the earliest biopharmaceutical products. It has been cloned, using recombinant DNA technology, expressed in large amounts and marketed as an agricultural product to improve the growth rate and protein:fat ratios in farm cattle, and to improve milk yield. Its use is banned in some countries.
  • Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE)

  • Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy/Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE/TSE)

Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies are a class of lethal diseases characterized by brain lesions. Examples of TSEs include scrapie in sheep and goats, BSE in cattle and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in humans. The appearance of a new variant of Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease has raised concerns regarding the risk of transmission of these diseases from medicines containing certain bovine-derived ingredients.
  • Bovine Viral Diarrhea (BVD)

  • Box Diagram

A control flow diagram consisting of a rectangle that is subdivided to show sequential steps, if-then-else conditions, repetition, and case conditions. Synonyms: Chapin Chart, Nassi-Shneiderman Chart, Program Structure Diagram.
  • Boxed Warning

This type of warning is also commonly referred to as a “black box warning”. It appears on a prescription drug’s label and is designed to call attention to serious or life-threatening risks.
