An agent, such as a virus, a drug, or radiation, that causes malformation of an embryo or a fetus and birth defects in children (liveborn offspring).
Teratogenicity
(ICH Q3C (R4)) The occurrence of structural malformations in a developing fetus when a substance is administered during pregnancy.
Terminal
A device, usually equipped with a CRT display and keyboard, used to send and receive information to and from a computer via a communication channel.
Terminal Filter
HVAC air filtration located at the entry point of air supply to the room (usually at the ceiling).
Terminal Sterilization
The process applied to product sealed in its final container that transforms a non-sterile product into a sterile one.
Terminal Sterilization
This term is a gross misnomer because it refers specifically to the terminal heat sterilization of LVPs usually by steam.
Terminally Ill
For an individual, it means that the subject has a life expectancy of six months or less as stated in writing by his or her attending physician and surgeon.
Terminator (of transcription)
A DNA sequence just downstream of the coding segment of a gene, which is recognized by RNA polymerase as a signal to stop synthesizing mRNA. In prokaryotes, terminators usually have an inverted repeat followed by a short stretch of Us at the very end of the transcribed portion. There may also be sequences beyond the transcribed part of the gene which influence the termination of transcription.
Tertiary Structure
The total three-dimensional shape of a protein that is essential to protein function.
TES
Thermoplastic Elastomer, Styrenic
Test
(ISO) Determination of one or more characteristics according to a procedure.
Test
(IEEE) An activity in which a system or component is executed under specified conditions, the results are observed or recorded, and an evaluation is made of some aspect of the system or component.
Test
Procedure undertaken in accordance with a defined method to determine the performance of an installation or an element thereof. ISO 14644-2.
Test (IEEE) (1), (ISO) (2)
Test (IEEE) (1), (ISO)(2)
Test Aerosol
Gaseous suspension of solid and/or liquid particles with known and controlled size distribution and concentration. ISO 14644-3.
Test Aerosol Generator
Equipment, capable of generating particulate matter having appropriate size range (e.g. 0,05µm to 2µm) at a constant concentration, which may be produced by thermal, hydraulic, pneumatic, acoustic, or electrostatic means.
Test Case
(IEEE) Documentation specifying inputs, predicted results, and a set of execution conditions for a test item. Synonymous: Test Case Specification.
Test Case
(IEEE) A set of test inputs, execution conditions, and expected results developed for a particular objective, such as to exercise a particular program path or to verify compliance with a specific requirement.
Test Case Generator
(IEEE) A software tool that accepts as input source code, test criteria, specifications, or data structure definitions; uses these inputs to generate test input data; and, sometimes, determines expected results. Synonymous: Test Data Generator, Test Generator.
Test Case Specification
Test Cycle
A defined period and frequency for the identification, measurement, and evaluation of a material, product, system, or service that produces a test result.
Test Cycle
A single full operation.
Test Design
(IEEE) Documentation specifying the details of the test approach for a software feature or combination of software features and identifying the associated tests.
Test Documentation
(IEEE) Documentation describing plans for, or results of, the testing of a system or component. Types include test case specification, test incident report, test log, test plan, test procedure, test report.
