Peter Hammer, PhD, is a Researcher/Professor at São Paulo State University, a member of the Physical Chemistry Materials Group, and Head of the Photoelectron Spectroscopy Laboratory of the Institute of Chemistry. He specializes in physical chemistry of materials and condensed matter physics, with an emphasis on the development and structural characterization of advanced nanostructured materials using various spectroscopic techniques with a focus on photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS/UPS). His research fields include the development of multifunctional organicinorganic hybrid materials with application in anticorrosive biocompatible coatings, carbon nanostructures, and carbon–ceramic nanocomposites applied in the heterogeneous catalysis.
