Senior Director, Global Engineering & Technology
Liz Dooley is a Senior Director, Global Engineering & Technology, at Janssen Pharmaceuticals and a graduate of University College Cork with a master’s in biotechnology. She has over 20 years’ experience in the biopharmaceutical Industry. In her current role, Liz’s responsibilities include leadership of the Core Project Team to ensure delivery of project objectives, including project controls, design, construction, commissioning, qualification, startup, and regulatory approval of the expanded facility. She has the responsibility to collaborate with external regulatory authorities and the local community to ensure alignment with project objectives. In addition, Liz liaises with internal corporate global functions and serves as a main point of contact/interface among the Project Team, Site Operations and Global Planning for new capacity ramp up.
Prior to this role, Liz was Head of Biologics Clinical Planning & Operations within BTDS, where she provided oversight to the global manufacturing network – both internally and externally – for production of clinical large molecule products API & Drug Product (DP). This included responsibility for the Fill Finish Pilot Plant (F2P2) in Schaffhausen, Switzerland and oversight of manufacturing activities conducted at external partners. She was the central point of contact for the manufacturing of Biologics products for the Therapeutic Areas, peer functions in Clinical Supply Chain, Global Quality, Janssen Supply Chain and other value streams within the Discovery, Product Development & Supply organization.
Liz is a member of iChemE, Women in Technology & Science & International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineers. She is currently Chair of the ISPE Ireland Affiliate and has led several initiatives supporting the building of our future workforce through deployment of the educational Hub concept, development of student chapter and affiliate framework playbooks – all of which are leverageable across sister affiliates. Liz is also a member of the European Affiliate Committee and a member of the European team focusing on student chapter enhancement.
