Albert V. Thomas, PhD, is a Director, Pharmaceutical Development, at AbbVie Inc. He earned his PhD in organic chemistry at Ohio State University. He was a Postdoctoral Associate at Stevens Institute of Technology and a Senior Chemist at Greenwich Pharmaceuticals before joining Abbott Laboratories, where he spent several years as a Process Chemist, leading teams in the manufacture of active pharmaceutical ingredients for clinical studies and the development of commercial manufacturing processes. Albert’s current responsibilities include the authorship of CMC dossiers for global regulatory submissions and providing guidance to late-stage development teams in the design of control strategies. Albert has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and holds eight patents. He has been an ISPE member since 2009.
