Josef Trapl holds a MSc. in Chemical Engineering from TU Granz Austria, and an MBA from Mannheim Business School, Germany. In his professional career he gained expertise as Construction Manager and Global Technology Manager at M+W Group. In 2014 he co-founded Memo3 GmbH. From 2015-2023 he worked as Global Head of MSci Innovation, within the Global Manufacturing Supply Organization (GMS) at Takeda Pharmaceuticals International. Since 2023 he is Managing director of Memo3 GmbH.
Josef Trapl passionately drives innovation in manufacturing. He has extensive global design and project experience across several business areas in the Life Science Industry including Biotech, Stem Cell, Fill & Finish, Oral Solid Dosage (OSD) production. He holds high expertise in industry trends, new technologies, automation solutions, technology transfer, regulatory and GMP aspects.
Since 2010, Josef is an active member of the ISPE. As core team member, he was involved in the Sustainability Handbook published in 2015. In 2022 he organized the ISPE Pharma 4.0™ DACH Emerging Leader Hackathon. Currently he is member of the CoP Pharma 4.0™ leadership team and co-leads the Pharma 4.0 Plug and Produce working group.
