Behzad Torabifar, PE, is the Senior Director of Sustainable Operations at Genentech. Behzad leads the sustainability portfolio for Roche’s pharma operations in the US. Before joining Genentech, Behzad worked in the oil and gas industry for over 10 years. He holds a master’s degree in sustainability management from Columbia University in New York. He has been a member of ISPE since 2019.

To improve the energy efficiency of cleanrooms, the Roche Global Engineering and Oceanside facilities and Engineering team collaborated to implement a risk-based approach to achieve lower air changes during operation without adversely impacting the facility, equipment, or reliability, while meeting environmental requirements.
