Dr. Wenjie Cheng is currently the Executive Director of CMC Management US East for WuXi Biologics. She manages CMC programs, provides project leadership and technical guidance for project teams, and supports technical strategy alignment between WuXi teams and client product development goals.
Dr. Cheng has 20 years of industrial experience in protein chemistry, focusing on purification/characterization of recombinant proteins, monoclonal antibodies, and antibody drug conjugates (ADCs). Before joining WuXi Biologics in January 2018, she worked at ImmunoGen for 12 years and led several ADC programs successfully from process development, tech transfer, manufacturing support, and CMO management to support IND and BLA filing. Prior to ImmunoGen, Dr. Cheng worked at Biogen and V.I. Technologies. She has extensive knowledge and experience in project management and technical leadership for internal/partner projects in the areas of Process Development, Operation, Alliance Management, and External Manufacturing.
Dr. Cheng graduated from New York University with a Ph.D. in Biophysics.
