Víctor graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering.
He has thirty years of experience in the regulated manufacturing environment, twenty-four of those working with Eli Lilly. Throughout his career with Eli Lilly, he has held several functional and operations leadership roles across Puerto Rico, Indianapolis and New Jersey within Manufacturing. He also led the Global Health Safety and Environmental (GHSE) organization for the company.
In his current role, he is responsible for the Corporate Engineering organization and GHSE. His team is responsible to deliver the company’s capital plan, including the delivery of new capacity expansion assets. In addition, his team is responsible for providing engineering subject matter expertise to all manufacturing sites, oversight to the company-wide HSE programs and to drive the implementation of the corporate environmental sustainability agenda. During his Leadership Lilly received the FOYA Award for their Peptide Manufacturing facility in Kinsale Ireland.
Victor was a board member of the Pharmaceutical Industry Association in PR and an advisory board member of United Way, PR. In his current role he is part of the advisory board for the Minority Engineering Program of Indianapolis (MEPI) and serves as a sponsor and mentor of several leadership developmental programs within Eli Lilly. He has been married for 27 years and has a 20 year old daughter.
After being in Operations for over 10 years and coming back to Engineering, Victor has been a judge for the ISPE FOYA for the last three years and has been an advocate for sustaining and growing Lilly’s engagement and active participation with ISPE.
He believes his experience in Operations and his return to Engineering can become a good asset to ISPE BOD by bringing a different perspective to the strategic vision of the organization. His pragmatic approach with a strong connection with the pulse of manufacturing and engineering can help ISPE remain in sync with current trends and needs resulting in increased value, higher levels of engagement and increased membership.
Regardless of the outcome of the board election, Victor is and will continue to be committed to ISPE and will remain open to helping the organization in any other capacity as needed.
