Tomos Gwyn Williams, PhD, is a member of the global ISPE Gamp committee and the Gamp Editorial Review Board. He was a chapter lead on the AI Guide and contributed to the Appendix on AI and Machine Learning in Gamp 5 2nd edition. Tom is also the Chief Technical Officer of Manchester Imaging Ltd., where he leads research and development activities. Manchester Imaging specializes in the research and development of machine learning algorithms and their deployment in software as medical device products for both in-house and as third-party providers for other companies. Tom has over 20 years of experience working in artificial intelligence and machine learning spanning both academic and commercial institutions. He specializes in inventing computer vision solutions that aid clinicians in diagnosis and treatment planning and has developed successful solutions for a range of medical conditions including dental decay, nonmelanoma skin cancers, facial paralysis, and osteoarthritis. Tom has an engineering degree from Imperial College, London, and a PhD in AI from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth. He has been an ISPE member since 2020.
