Thomas Maischberger, PhD

Thomas Maischberger is a Process Engineer at ZETA GmbH (Austria) and has experience in industrial microbiology, enzyme technology, and bioprocess optimisation. He was awarded a master degree in Food- and Biotechnology and holds a PhD in engineering sciences from University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna. As a post-doc scientist he scaled up production processes of immunomodulating APIs from lab to production scale. Since 2012 Thomas has been involved in food- and bio plant engineering, and joined ZETA in 2016. Since then, he held a number of process engineering roles mainly in concept design projects and focused his research and development activities in the development of bioreactor characterisation methodologies, scale-up and scale-down considerations and bioreactor optimisation in general.
