Thilo Buck (Ph.D) completed a bachelor’s degree (magna cum laude; 2012) in psychology with minors in chemistry & biology in the USA (UNO), a research master’s (2014) in Neuroscience & Neuropharmacology at the University Bordeaux & Free University Amsterdam (Erasmus Mundus NEURASMUS scholar), and his doctoral research (2022) on viral vector-based gene therapy on animal and human iPSCs differentiated to retinal organoids at the Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). Experiencing the roadblocks in rAAV-based personalized medicines, he focused after his doctoral work on viral vector process development & technical writing in pharmaceutical manufacturing at NecstGen (2021). At NecstGen, he primarily worked on analytical development (ddPCR, ELISA, FACS), USP (suspension cells), DSP (Äkta systems), and agile project management. Between 2012-2015, he worked as a parttime clean room engineer on (re-)qualification (DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ; also, airflow & particle measures) and installation (e.g., filters, walls) at many manufacturing facilities working for the company bc-technology. He is a member of ISPE (NL affilate Emerging Leader Communication Officer) and DARQA and wants to actively contribute to ATMPs and the pharmaceutical industry in general.
