Steve Harbin recently lead a cross functional team of experts from Moderna Therapeutics, numerous consulting firms and service providers in delivering Moderna’s Norwood, MA Clinical Manufacturing Facility which was chosen as ISPE’s Facility of the Future category winner, FOYA 2019. This Facility has also recently supported the CDC with development and delivery of a potential Vaccine for the COVID 19 Pandemic.
While at Moderna Mr. Harbin was Chief Sustainability Officer, Head of Corporate Facilities and Norwood Site Head and he held executive committee responsibility for Human Resources, Manufacturing and Learning.
Prior to his work at Moderna, Mr. Harbin was Director Global Manufacturing, Quality Capabilities and Training, for Eli Lilly Co following years of Management of Lilly manufacturing operations in Spain and the UK.
While at bioMerieux, Mr. Harbin, held the role of Corporate Vice President, Global Operations, and was an Executive Committee member responsible for Global Manufacturing, Global Supply Chain, Global Purchasing, Global Quality, Regulatory Affairs, CT's and Information Systems.
Currently Mr. Harbin provides consultancy services to several organizations seeking to transform their organizations and develop and implement strategies for Clinical Manufacturing of Novel Therapeutics that are facing similar challenges that Moderna successfully met while under his guidance.
