Sean Manion, PhD is the Chief Scientific Officer of ConsenSys Health and the co-author of ""Blockchain for Medical Research: Accelerating Trust in Healthcare"" (2020, CRC Press). A neuroscientist who moved into research administration for the federal government, Sean has spent more than two decades working through challenges to improve medical research across the ""bench to bedside"" continuum. He see blockchain and other emerging technology as critical tools to accelerate research and advance health outcomes for all.
Sean represents ConsenSys Health on the leadership board of the Decentralized Trials & Research Alliance (DTRA), is the Technical Program Committee Chair for the IEEE Healthcare: Blockchain & AI virtual series, leads the Research Subgroup for the IEEE Standards Association P2418.6 Blockchain in Healthcare & Life Sciences committee, serves on the HIMSS Blockchain Task Force, is co-editor for the Frontiers journal ""Blockchain for Science"", and is a Fellow of the British Blockchain Association.
