Senior Engineer
Sean Keenan is a senior chemical engineer and operations leader based in Boston. He brings nearly a decade of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, with a strong background in process engineering, laboratory and pilot plant operations, and organizational design for R&D and manufacturing environments. His work spans early-stage technology development through late-stage scale-up, with a focus on flow chemistry, continuous manufacturing, and strategic operations management.
Sean has led the design, construction, commissioning, and relocation of multiple R&D laboratories and pilot-scale facilities, including oversight of complex capital projects supporting potent compounds, controlled substances, and lipid and oligonucleotide therapeutic platforms. He has also driven cross-functional initiatives in asset management, engineering safety programs, and digital transformation, delivering measurable gains in operational efficiency, cost reduction, and scientific throughput.
He is an active contributor to the global pharmaceutical community, currently serving on the Board of Directors for the ISPE Boston Area Chapter. Sean holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a Masters of Engineering Science in Biopharmaceutical Engineering from University College Dublin in Ireland.
