Rajneesh (Raj) Taneja received his undergraduate degree in Pharmacy from Delhi University, India and he earned his Ph.D in Pharmaceutics & Industrial Pharmacy from the University of Maryland at Baltimore, MD.

Raj is Senior Director, Pharmaceutical Product Development at TB Alliance since April 2013. This is a non-profit organization dedicated towards developing novel treatments for tuberculosis. His responsibilities include designing and developing drug products for supporting preclinical and clinical programs and formulating combination drug products that enhance treatment compliance. Supporting the development of regulatory and market access strategies is also an integral part of the responsibilities. He is currently leading the development of first line pediatric drug combination formulations as mandated by the WHO guidelines. Previously, Raj was working at Takeda pharmaceuticals as Director of Product Development. There, he supported the development of numerous compounds from early development through obtaining regulatory approval. This includes blockbuster products like Lupron™ and Prevacid.™ Raj is also a licensed pharmacist and he has 9 years of clinical pharmacy experience at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, MD.

His personal interests include developing cheaper & innovative products that enhance treatment adherence and harmonizing the regulatory pathways in countries with high burden of tuberculosis.

Raj has been a member of AAPS since 1992. He has served in a number of leadership positions including the Chair, RS section in 2012. He has served on a number of committees including Member group coordination committee and Web design committee.
