Dr. Philip Dell’Orco is currently VP, Advanced Manufacturing Technologies in GlaxoSmithKline. In this role, he is accountable across R&D and global manufacturing for driving a transformation in how small and large molecule products are manufactured, with continuous manufacturing being a key platform. Prior to this role, Phil has had several global department head roles within GSK R&D, with accountabilities spanning device design and industrialization, process engineering for drug substance and drug product processes, process modeling, drug substance crystallization, and drug developability. Previous roles include director of GMP operations in R&D pilot plants, and as an engineering and process safety practitioner/manager. Prior to GSK, Phil worked at Los Alamos National Lab as a Technical Staff Member in the Dynamic Experimentation group. He studied engineering at the University of Texas at Austin and Vanderbilt University.
