Pete Meginnis is a Consultant Engineer at Eli Lilly and Company and is responsible for the design, installation, qualification and maintenance of all unidirectional airflow systems at the company’s parenteral manufacturing operations in Indianapolis, Indiana. Since 1994, Pete has filled project engineer, manager and consultant roles in parenteral Engineering and Quality. In addition to developing the procedures for airflow pattern (aka “smoke”) testing, Pete has executed over 200 airflow pattern tests encompassing traditional aseptic processing areas, RABS and isolators in both existing and new facilities. He has interacted with inspectors from regulatory agencies around the world and in 2004 presented “Demistifying Airflow Patterns” at the ISPE Winter Conference.
