Payton Fraley is a chemical engineer at Burns & McDonnell with extensive experience supporting both human and animal health manufacturing across the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors. His work spans the full lifecycle of GMP drug substance facilities, from upstream operations such as bacterial fermentation, mammalian cell culture, and harvest to downstream processing including chromatography, tangential flow filtration, and buffer formulation.



His project experience includes facilities regulated by the FDA and USDA, as well as sites operating under EU GMP and PIC/S frameworks. He has guided projects from early feasibility and conceptual design through detailed engineering, construction support, commissioning, qualification and transition into active product manufacturing. His work focuses on delivering practical, inspection-ready solutions that enable reliable production, regulatory compliance and scalable manufacturing within complex life science facilities.
