Dr. Lars Waldmann holds a Doctorate in Biochemistry from the University of Halle, Germany. Over the last 20 years, he has worked for different biotech companies in the Boston, Massachusetts area. Starting with a role at Genzyme, where he was responsible for formulation development of protein biologics, he moved to roles at CIS-US/Pharmalucence/Sun Pharma with responsibilities for lyophilization product development, manufacturing technical support, and CMO services for clients. At this company, he experienced the transition from traditional Grade A cleanrooms to isolator fill lines. This opened the possibility for him to work in an Engineering role on installation, commissioning, and qualification of an isolator fill line. After this, he joined Microchips Biotech, a startup company working on development of an implantable microchip system for release of drug product. Next, Lars worked as Project Engineer for a new fill/finish facility for Lantheus Medical Imaging. When he joined Thermo Fisher Scientific VVS (formerly Brammer Bio), he managed clients and projects as Operational Project Lead in Drug Product Manufacturing. After joining the Global Engineering group, where Lars was a Staff Engineer, based in Cambridge, MA, he became responsible for fill/finish and other process equipment for the new CDMO facility in Plainville, MA. In addition, he closely worked with colleagues from the global Pharma Services Group on standardization and novel technology projects. Since 01/23 has joined a company in Massachusetts as Director of Manufacturing.
