Kelly LaCarubba

Kelly LaCarubba is the Head of Material Qualification within Global Manufacturing Sciences at Takeda. She has over 20 years of biotechnology industry experience and has been with Takeda, previously Shire, for the last 13. Her experience includes manufacturing technical support, process validation and material qualification of raw materials and single-use systems. Kelly currently leads a global team responsible for supporting and aligning material qualification for all modalities across Takeda, with a focus on increasing network capabilities through global knowledge management and digitizing material qualification. She participated in the BioPhorum’s Drug Substance, Disposables, Extractables and Leachables workstream and co-authored the BioPhorum’s Testing, Validation and Release Standards publication. Kelly holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from Northeastern University and an ME in Biotechnology Engineering from Tufts University.
