Kathy Wengel is currently Worldwide Vice President, Johnson & Johnson Supply Chain (JJSC). She serves on the Johnson & Johnson Management Committee and chairs the JJSC Leadership Team. She is also a J&J leadership member of the Regulatory Compliance & Government Affairs Committee and the Science, Technology & Sustainability Committee of the Johnson & Johnson Board of Directors.
Kathy has enterprise leadership responsibility for all aspects of Supply Chain, including accelerating Johnson and Johnson’s innovation and growth objectives, building and leveraging capabilities that meet the diverse needs of the business, and enabling the delivery of a reliable supply of high quality products and services to customers around the world.<br><br>
JJSC encompasses five segment supply chains (Pharmaceuticals, Consumer Products, Global Orthopaedics, Global Surgery, and Diabetes Care & Vision Care) that cover planning, sourcing, internal and external manufacturing, Customer Logistics Services and the Supply Chain Strategy and Deployment. Additional enterprise-wide functions that are part of JJSC include Quality & Compliance, Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability and Engineering & Technical Operations.<br><br>
During Kathy’s 27-year tenure with Johnson & Johnson, she has served in a variety of strategic leadership and executive roles, with increasing responsibility, where she interfaced with almost every business segment across the J&J enterprise. She has operated in quality, operations, new products, engineering/technical and business roles at manufacturing sites and facilities around the world. Kathy’s expansive and global work experience includes seven years in Puerto Rico and eight years in Europe where she assumed broad leadership roles and had exposure to all aspects of J&J business. <br><br>
Prior to Kathy’s current role, she was Vice President, Quality & Compliance (Q&C) and the first Chief Quality Officer for Johnson & Johnson for four years. She had enterprise leadership responsibility for Q&C, as well as for the Sterility Assurance and Operations Readiness & Convergence groups. Kathy also led the creation of an enterprise Quality & Compliance organization that focused on simplifying and standardizing Q&C across the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, including a single Johnson & Johnson Quality Policy and a common set of Quality Policy Standards, and an independent internal audit program.
