Jorge Delgado

Mr. Delgado is a leader with a demonstrated history of implementing continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing and distribution. He currently leads the Amgen Manufacturing Limited Drug Product Process Development Core Technologies group. This team is responsible for enhancing manufacturing operations through innovation and enabling new capabilities for the commercialization of Amgen drug products to reach patients. The group has successfully executed projects such as parenteral drug product filling lines, automatic visual inspection lines, and packaging lines. These implementations incorporate multiple Industry 4.0 tools, including machine learning (a first in the industry for automatic visual inspection), collaborative robots (COBOTs), advanced magnetic transport systems, digital twins, and additive manufacturing. Before joining Amgen in 2004, Jorge held consulting, scientific, and engineering positions at various companies in the pharmaceutical industry. Jorge holds a master’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, both from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico, San Juan.
