John Rubero

John has focused on downstream purification of therapeutic proteins for his entire career, beginning with purification of cytokines and cytokine receptors. John started his career in process development, before transitioning to clinical manufacturing, where he was responsible for CGMP compliance. Since the late 1990s, he has been involved primarily in preparative-scale equipment design for production of monoclonal antibodies and fusion proteins, with emphasis on custom Liquid Chromatography, In-line Dilution, and Tangential Flow Ultrafiltration systems. Most of John’s experience pertains to large stainless-steel facilities in the U.S. and Europe. As a Senior Fellow at CRB, John is focused on mentoring young engineers on fundamental principles of downstream bioprocessing, especially those associated with liquid chromatography.
