Founder and Director of The BioProcess Institute. He has more than 35 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical, food and cosmetic industries including expertise in facility design, operations management, fit-for-use testing, performance and exposure testing, bioprocess engineering and biopharmaceutical manufacturing. He currently serves as Director of The University of Rhode Island’s College of Pharmacy’s GMP facility and as the leader of its Introduction to Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing program. Jim’s consulting expertise lies in all areas and all levels of engineering, management, cGMP, and single-use applications. He also facilitated Single-Use News Letters, a free collaborative online resource for information and updates on the exploding role of Single-Use Technologies in the world of bioprocess science. Jim is a dedicated member of the following volunteer industry organizations: ASME’s BioProcess Equipment (BPE) Standard Committee, ASME BPE Sealing Components Subcommittee, NHAAD’s Hose Safety Institute Advisory Council, ASTM, BPSA, PDA, and ISPE. He is a past member of ISA, IFT and AAMI. He also serves as an expert witness for legal cases involving biopharmaceutical and related industries. Jim is a licensed professional engineer in NJ, has a Masters of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from Manhattan College and a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemical Engineering from Rutgers University.
