Eamon Judge, the former President of the Ireland Affiliate of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), started his career in the biopharma sector by joining Eli Lilly in 1980 as a chemical engineer. In the subsequent decades Eamon took on Director level responsibility for small molecule API operations and engineering/HSE/supply chain functional leadership at Lilly’s API site in Kinsale Ireland. He was based at Lilly’s Corporate Headquarters in strategic planning and engineering leadership assignments during the late 1990s and he returned to Ireland to be lead the operation of Lilly’s bulk aseptic manufacturing facilities. In the mid 2000’s Eamon was responsible for engineering, IT and process control and HSE operations and compliance during a period when Lilly’s Kinsale site added two bulk mammalian cell culture facilities.
He is currently EMEA Project Director for large capital projects working for Lilly’s Global Engineering function and in the past two years has been responsible for front end planning for over $1b of capital investments in Europe and Asia.
Eamon represented Eli Lilly for many years on the Council of BioPharmaChem Ireland (BPCI), the industry association representing the biopharma sector in Ireland. He is an external examiner for Cork Institute of Technology and has been a Board of Management Chair for two primary schools for 12 years.
Eamon is celebrating his 40th anniversary with Eli Lilly and Company in 2020. He enjoys DIY and has a passion for working with young people – from formerly being a scout Leader to acting as a STEM coach in local schools for the past 18 years.
