Desiree is currently on assignment leading the Global Engineering (GE) Pharmaceutical Operations and Sterile Injectable customer facing teams. In this role, she is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction to the GE team providing direct support to these Operational Units. Desiree has been leading the Engineering Operations Team since 2013, including the following: Energy, Climate & Change Program (ECC), Global Reliability Program (GRP), Integrated Facilities Management Program (IFM), Maintenance, Repairs and Operations Program (MRO). Desiree joined Pfizer/Wyeth in 2007, as Engineering Director in the Wyeth Aseptic Operation in Carolina, PR. She then assumed responsibility for the PR Regional Engineering organizations, supporting the 6 Pfizer sites, and implementing regional model programs including Reliability, Capital and Environmental Sustainability, among others. Prior to joining Pfizer, she worked for Bristol-Myers Squibb and Eli Lilly in different functions in Engineering and Operations, leading the largest BMS API Operation at the time, a Biochemical operation in Eli Lilly, and different Engineering roles of increased responsibility in both Companies. She has over 30 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical Industry, including API, Biochemical, Chemical, Aseptic and Drug Product operations. She led the PGS Environmental Sustainability Plants Platform for 5 years and represents GE in the PR Crisis Management Committee, leading the Engineering assessment and recovery activities for the 3 sites in PR in 2017. Desiree holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayaguez. She is a strong leader and a capable people manager, who has consistently demonstrated the ability to transform organizations and to deliver sustainable results.
