Declan Gavin, PhD

Declan Gavin is a Senior Principal Scientist at the Eli Lilly manufacturing site in Kinsale, Ireland. In 2024, Declan was part of the Lilly IE2b facility team recognized by the ISPE as the category winner for innovation and the overall winner of the Facility of the Year Award. Declan completed his PhD in Organic Chemistry in 2012. Since joining Eli Lilly in 2017, he has held various roles across the manufacturing business and has gained extensive experience in GMP peptide manufacture. He played a key role in the implementation of Kinsale’s novel peptide platform and the development/integration of business processes and tools to support GMP manufacture. Currently, Declan’s focus is on digitalization, and the development of digital tools and solutions to drive compliance and efficiency.
