David J. W. Barber, PhD, CBiol, MRSB, PCQI, is a consultant in China and East Asia, following a managerial career in quality assurance and GMP compliance in medical device, biologics, and pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chain from 1981 to 2012. He held positions with BD, Delta Biotechnology, Serono, and GE Healthcare in the UK, Europe, and China. David’s experience lies in microbiology, sterilization, and parenteral manufacturing, and includes leading a sterility assurance center of excellence. He holds a BSc and PhD from the University of Salford, UK, held research positions at the Universities of Notre Dame and Texas, and was a Research Fellow in pharmaceutical microbiology at the University of Manchester, UK.
