Chris is a Senior Director in Late Stage Process Development organization at Genzyme. Currently he is the head of Late Stage Cell Culture Development and is the program lead for the Integrated Continuous BioManufacturing Platform. He has over 24 years of experience in process development, technology transfer, clinical manufacturing and manufacturing support. Previously he also managed departments responsible for Microbial Fermentation Development, Process Analytics, process/analytical development and clinical manufacturing for gene therapy products. Over the past 15 years, he was also the Technical Lead for a number of clinical and commercial products at Genzyme and most recently, R&D portfolio manager for manufacturing support projects. Chris received his B.S. in chemical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Ph.D. in biochemical engineering from M.I.T. and Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research.
