Christoph’s career in the Instrumentation/Process Control field started when he signed up for a 3½ year apprenticeship program with Bayer AG to become a certified Instrumentation and Control Technician. A few years later, he graduated from college with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He worked at Bayer AG in Wuppertal / Germany for many years until he moved with his family to Clayton NC as engineering lead for instrumentation and control of a grass-root manufacturing facility for the biotech business. Two years after returning from Clayton NC, Christoph moved back to the United States to work for IDEC Pharmaceuticals as engineering lead for instrumentation and control of a grass-root project (NIMO) on one of the largest biotech manufacturing facilities in the US. Biogen and IDEC merged to become BiogenIDEC and in 2005 this facility was sold to Genentech Inc. In 2011 he moved to Hillsboro OR taking on the challenge forming an Automation Team to support start-up for Drug Product and Packaging Operations at the newly built Genentech Facility. In 2018 Christoph took on a new challenge and moved to Switzerland where he works for Lonza heading the global automation organization. Christoph lives in Basel, likes playing golf and has a passion for working with wood.
