Caoimhe Vallely-Gilroy is Head of Digital Health and Therapeutics at Merck. She is a passionate advocate of patients’ rights and wishes. Caoimhe focuses on the connected patient experience and works to promote and empower patient autonomy with their own health and health data. Caoimhe has a background in clinical development, from leading and managing clinical trials, protocol analysis, strategy development, and implementation to ethical oversight and regulatory affairs. Prior to Merck, she held positions at Roche Pharmaceuticals, Novartis Pharma AG, and Actelion Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Caoimhe has a bachelors degree in genetics, MScs in biomedical science and translational medicine, and is currently pursuing a PhD at the Institute of Clinical Trials and Methodology, University College, London.
