Biana Torres

Biana Torres is a quality leader in the advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMP) and biologics field. Biana is currently a Senior Director, Quality Assurance at Encoded Therapeutics where she leads the quality organization focused on all elements of quality assurance and quality systems for gene therapy products. Prior to joining Encoded Therapeutics, Biana served as Head of Quality at Theragent, Inc., a Cell and Gene Therapy CDMO as well as quality leadership roles at CRISPR Therapeutics and Kite Pharma. She has developed and implemented risk based approaches and strategies to support facility design, technology transfer, validation, aseptic processes, and contamination control to enhance cell and gene therapy and biologics programs. She established phase appropriate quality systems to support clinical and commercial manufacturing and accelerate programs. Biana received her MA in Molecular & Cell Biology, Immunology from UC Berkeley.
