Technical Director, Group Head of Technology
Currently I am the Technical Director and Group Head of Technology, responsible for technical leadership across all our sectors. I lead both the central SME Group, and the Technology Team, which is comprised of approximately 75 specialists who undertake R&D innovation projects in support of the Group's long term business objectives.
Professionally, I am a Chartered chemical engineer, Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, with Masters Degrees in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering and Executive Leadership. I have 35 years’ experience in the process and facility design of pharmaceutical and biotech facilities, with extensive experience in vaccine facility design.
With regards to supporting industry bodies, in recent years I have presented at conferences on modular design and construction techniques as well as the design of flexible manufacturing facilities. I am a member of the BioPhorum's Technology Strategy Forum for Ultimate Facility Design and a member of the ISPE Facility of the Future organizing committee. I am a regular guest lecturer for UCL's Biochemical Engineering department for Flexible Facility Design, and I have been co-author of several industry white papers and baseline guides; chair of several ISPE seminars; and a speaker at numerous international industry conferences on a range of biopharma subjects.
