Andy Halsey, PE, has over 20 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, focusing in the areas of aseptic processing, production of clinical materials, and pilot plant engineering. He is currently Associate Director, Drug Product Operations for Teva Specialty Biologics R&D hub in West Chester, PA where he has just completed the successful implementation of an isolator flexible filling line for the production of clinical biologics products using single use systems technology. Prior to Teva, Andy spent 10 years at GSK’s R&D campus in Upper Merion, PA, including the build out of a new sterile filling pilot plant using RABS technology. Prior to GSK Andy also worked in the facilities engineering group at Merck and in pharmaceutical consulting. He is a past vice president of the ISPE Delaware Valley chapter and is currently active in the Biophorum Fill Finish working group. He has a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech, and is a licensed professional engineer in Pennsylvania.
