Sanjeev Kumar, PhD

University of Maryland, Baltimore County
Assistant Research Scientist
Dr. Kumar is a leading biomedical sensor and renewable energy storage scientist with extensive experience in advanced materials design and development, isotope separation techniques, advanced sensor development, and renewable energy storage. As an assistant research scientist in the Center for Advanced Sensor Technology at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, his work involves research regarding the development of carbon nanomaterial sensors using natural receptors as well as the application of computational tools for the design of microfluidic-based sensors for healthcare and environmental monitoring. With a Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Delhi, Dr. Kumar has also worked as Assistant Professor at Shinshu University Nagano Japan for over 6 years, where his work drove improvements in adsorption separation methods for medically important isotope gases, the development of graphene-wrapped functional nanomaterial-based membranes, and the fabrication of temperature-sensing films.
