Site Sustainability Lead
Hamid Teimourian serves as the Site Energy and Sustainability Program Lead at AstraZeneca’s largest global biologics manufacturing facility, where he oversees the implementation of energy conservation and carbon-reduction initiatives. He leads a multi-million-dollar program aligned with AstraZeneca’s $1 billion Ambition Zero Carbon strategy, which targets carbon zero by 2026 and the achievement of carbon negativity across the entire value chain by 2030.
Previously, Hamid served as Facilities and PMO Director and was a member of the site leadership team for AstraZeneca’s California operations, where he provided strategic leadership across facilities, capital programs, and operational excellence initiatives.
Hamid is an active member of the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE) and served as Vice President of the Chesapeake Bay Area Chapter from 2024 to 2026. He is currently a member of the ISPE Guidance Document Committee and has contributed to multiple ISPE publications, including Equipment Reliability, Maintenance, and Sustainability guides.
