Previously he was Director of Masters of Biomanufacturing & Bioprocessing, Stack Family Center for Biopharmaceutical Education & Training (CBET) and one of the founding faculty members. Ehsan, simultaneously served as an Assistant Professor at the Departments of Basic & Clinical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Dr. Mahdinia also worked as Associate Editor for the Journal of Molecular Biotechnology-Springer. He holds a Ph.D. in Microbiological Engineering awarded by Pennsylvania State University and Master’s Degree in Biotechnology from Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran.
