David DeTora

David DeTora is Executive Director, Technical Product Leadership at Merck. He leads cross-functional teams in straddling research and manufacturing to develop processes and supply chains for new products. He has over 30 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry across manufacturing and research. From 2020-2024, he was Executive Director in Merck Research Laboratories’ Global Development Quality where he had responsibilities including data integrity, computer system validation (GMP & GLP), facility validation, and process development support. He also led efforts for AI use case development in GMP applications and organizational upskilling in these tools. His group championed innovative approaches to computer system validation to match the evolving needs in this arena.
