Dear fellow members of RMISPE,
Happy New Year to you all. I hope you celebrated the start of 2019 in good spirits with family and friends. I am writing to thank you for your continued support of the Chapter as well as provide an update on a few of the programs we have scheduled for 2019. Please also find attached an electronic version of the 2019 Events Calendar. Wall calendars will be available for pick up at the Vendor Show.
As many of you know or are currently experiencing first hand, we have had some changes to our local life science industry that has resulted in members losing their positions. I have been in contact with National ISPE and they are aware of the recent closures and are interested in helping displaced members out with reduced dues. If you have been displaced and would like to renew at a discounted rate, please contact me at michelle@alcornci or 720.261.4082. The Rocky Mountain Chapter is exploring adding a job search/resume section to our website. We are also exploring how we can incorporate some tools into the Vendor Show to help with job placement. Please stay tuned for future updates.
Speaking of the Vendor Show, we are busy preparing for the 2019 Vendor Show and Ski Day at Copper Mountain. The Vendor Show will be held on March 7th at the Westin Westminster. We anticipate breaking records in exhibitions as well as attendees. The Westin is undergoing a renovation, so you will notice some changes to the entry of the building. Please watch for entry updates from the Chapter.
The Ski Day will be on March 8th and we will again be hosted by Murphy Company. Please note, if you are coming up for lunch only, we will need you to rsvp this year, as we have the potential to run out of food and more importantly space. Lift tickets and bus passes will be obtained as usual through registration. The bus has a limited capacity so please make sure to sign up early.
The golf tournament will be moving this year to a 36-hole course, Westwood Golf Course in Arvada, to accommodate all interested members. We are excited about playing this new course and allowing all interested members to join in!
I know there is a lot of uncertainty in the local market right now, but please be reassured that the RMISPE Board is working to providing additional resources to provide support in this difficult time.
We are always open to feedback/comments. Please feel free to let myself or your favorite board member know how we can improve.
President, ISPE – Rocky Mountain Chapter
