Tell us about your role at ISPE: What do you do each day?
I help drive and support communications efforts for ISPE in collaboration with our marketing and communications team. This includes spearheading our media relations program, overseeing our iSpeak blog, developing communications materials such as the ISPE Annual Report and ISPE press releases, and mapping out communications plans with our colleagues across various departments.
What do you love about your job?
My favorite part of my job is helping bring stories to life and support knowledge-sharing. I’ve worked in the communications field for more than 16 years. I love working with thought leaders to develop, crystallize, and disseminate insights and perspectives that educate and inspire audiences. It’s always very rewarding to see the articles I’ve worked on with journalists get published and to celebrate those successes with the subject matter experts who are featured.
What do you like to do when you are not at work?
I live in sunny San Diego now and am originally from wintry Rochester, New York, so I love spending lots of time outside. Some of my favorite outdoor activities include hiking, biking, stand-up paddleboarding, going for light runs on the boardwalk or a nearby beach, reading outside, and taking my 16-year-old dog to nearby parks. I’m also starting to get back into tennis, which I’ve loved playing since I was a kid.
