The increasing impact of new technologies—such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and automation—is sparking interest in many areas of development and chemistry, manufacturing, and controls (CMC), fundamentally reshaping the pharmaceutical industry’s future. More than ever, an emphasis on cross-discipline collaboration is needed to implement and integrate these groundbreaking technologies while ensuring organizational readiness and preparing the workforce of the future.
To support this transformation, the Annual Meeting will bring together a diverse community of industry professionals, thought leaders, and innovators. More than 100 speakers and over 200 exhibitors are expected to convene in Charlotte, where attendees will also benefit from more than 12 hours of networking opportunities.

Keynote Speakers
One of the highlights of every ISPE Annual Meeting & Expo is the keynote talk from a patient or patient advocate about their journey. This year, attendees will hear from John Daniel, a heart transplant recipient and veteran human resource executive with deep experience in leading people and creating a positive company culture. He is a recognized thought leader and speaks at various organizations on culture, leadership, human behavior, and change management. He and his wife, Leslie, were honored in 2022 with the Living Heart Award by the American Heart Association (AHA) for their contributions to the AHA.
Other keynote speakers include Brendan O’Callaghan, Executive Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply at Sanofi, and Elaine Shannon, Global Quality Officer with Takeda. O’Callaghan leads an international network of manufacturing and distribution sites. His ambition is to enable successful commercialization of Sanofi’s diverse pipeline, to build world-class standards of manufacturing and supply chain excellence, and to future-proof Sanofi’s manufacturing network, leveraging the latest digital, process, and technology solutions to ensure the continued reliable supply of essential, high-quality medicines to patients worldwide.
As the Global Quality Officer at Takeda, Shannon oversees the enterprise quality organization that establishes consistent quality management systems and programs across the network. She leads best-in-class global quality operations, through one quality management system.
