ISPE Announces 2025 International Honor Award Winners
The ISPE International Honor Awards provide the opportunity for all of us to recognize and celebrate the dedicated professionals volunteering countless hours to support ISPE in its mission.
The 2025 Honor Award Winners were announced at the 2025 ISPE Membership Meeting and Awards Lunch held 28 October 2025 at the 2025 ISPE Annual Meeting & Expo in Charlotte, NC, US. The ceremony honored ISPE members and contributors whose dedication and service exemplify what it means to Shape the Future of Pharma™.
Max Seales Yonker Member of the Year Award

Lindsey Daniel, Global Head of Operational Excellence, Biologics Network, Takeda
This award honors the ISPE member who has made the most significant contribution to the Society during the past 12 months. It is named in honor of a dynamic person who contributed to the Society in many different ways and served as a source of inspiration during her battle with cancer.
Lindsey Daniel exemplifies extraordinary volunteer service and unwavering commitment to advancing ISPE’s mission. Through visionary leadership across international conferences, regional Chapters, and professional communities, Lindsey has delivered tangible results that connect pharmaceutical knowledge, foster innovation, and strengthen ISPE’s global network. As a leader for the Facilities of the Future and Biotech Conferences, she recruited and managed keynote speakers, led technical tracks, and now serves as Chair for the 2026 conference, demonstrating exceptional dedication to knowledge sharing and operational excellence.
In addition to ISPE events, Lindsey revitalized the ISPE Boston Chapter through strategic planning and mentorship, empowering both emerging and established professionals to contribute to the Society’s long-term growth. Her recruitment of new members and volunteers, her mentoring of students and executive teams, and her authorship of the Women in Pharma® column have collectively inspired widespread engagement. Lindsey’s ability to unite people, foster collaboration, and embody ISPE’s values of connection, excellence, and service makes her a truly deserving recipient of this honor.
Richard B. Purdy Distinguished Achievement Award

Trish Melton, PhD, Managing Director, Mime Solutions Ltd.
This award honors an ISPE member who has made significant, long-term contributions to the Society. It is not necessarily presented annually. It is named after one of ISPE’s founders and one of its most accomplished presidents.
A dedicated ISPE member since 1997, Trish Melton exemplifies extraordinary volunteer service and unwavering commitment to the Society’s mission. For more than two decades, she has shaped ISPE’s knowledge base through visionary leadership, mentorship, and a steadfast focus on advancing industry’s best practices. As Past Chair of the ISPE Guidance Documents Committee, Trish has been instrumental in the development and modernization of over 90 ISPE Guidance Documents, the cornerstones of pharmaceutical excellence that set global standards across manufacturing and quality. Her leadership transformed the guidance process itself, streamlining development, prioritization, and review to deliver impactful, relevant resources that strengthen both ISPE and the broader industry.
Beyond her technical contributions, Trish’s influence extends through her mentorship and advocacy for sustainability and project management within ISPE. She led the Project Management Community of Practice (CoP), co-authoring the ISPE Good Practice Guide: Project Management for the Pharmaceutical Industry, and served as a mentor and author on the team that developed ISPE’s recently released Sustainability Guide. Through her collaborative spirit, inclusive leadership, and tireless dedication behind the scenes, Trish continues to inspire professionals worldwide, embodying ISPE’s core values of innovation, integrity, and global collaboration.
Affiliate and Chapter Excellence Award

Argentina Affiliate
This award recognizes the outstanding work of the International Affiliates and Chapters as reflected by membership development and services, management, industry and Society support, and innovation.
Under the leadership of President Martín, ISPE Argentina has transformed into one of ISPE’s most dynamic and strategically driven Affiliates. Over the past four years, the team successfully reversed a decade-long membership decline—achieving a 45% increase and registering Argentina’s first ISPE Student Chapter at UADE (Universidad Argentina de la Empresa) in 2024. This revitalization was fueled by high-impact educational programs, targeted member engagement, and consistent communication through the implementation of a professional customer relationship management platform. The Affili-ate’s dedication to cultivating future leaders and strengthening global connections has solidified its role as a vibrant hub within the Latin American pharmaceutical community.
ISPE Argentina’s achievements extend well beyond growth metrics. The Affiliate launched a six-month regional training program offering 69 hours of content to participants across Latin America, co-organized the first tri-Affiliate symposium with Brazil and Mexico, and introduced structured governance reforms to ensure long-term sustainability. Through thoughtful digital innovation, cross-border collaboration, and a steadfast commitment to ISPE’s mission, ISPE Argentina has elevated the Society’s presence and reputation in the region—proving that lasting impact is defined by vision, execution, and community, not size.
Committee of the Year Award

Product Quality Lifecycle Implementation (PQLI)® Committee Q12 and Q13 Teams
This award recognizes the outstanding work of one of the Society’s committees, councils, task teams, or CoP steering committees.
The ISPE Product Quality Lifecycle Implementation (PQLI)® Committee and specifically the ICH Q2 and Q13 teams have made exceptional global contributions to advancing ISPE’s mission through regulatory collaboration, technical excellence, and industry education. Over the past three years, PQLI members have organized and delivered six customized training programs on ICH Q12 and Q13 implementation to health authorities across four conti-nents, including ANVISA (the Brazil National Health Surveillance Agency), Health Canada, Jordan FDA, INVIMA (Columbia National Institute for Drug and Food Surveillance), Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (UK), and Health Sciences Authority (Singapore), some with participation from the US FDA. These sessions trained more than 500 inspectors and reviewers worldwide, strengthening regulatory understanding and harmonization while reinforcing ISPE’s leadership in delivering manufacturing and supply chain innovation, operational excellence, and regulatory insight.
Through their rigorous, science-based approach, the PQLI teams have advanced adoption of critical the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use (ICH) guidelines, bridging the gap between regulatory authorities and industry. Their commitment to practical implementation, thought leadership, and global collaboration has led to measurable results—from the development of a forthcoming ISPE Good Practice Guide: Control Strategy Development for Continuous Manufacturing to the creation of a scalable model for future training programs. By fostering innovation, regulatory efficiency, and professional growth worldwide, the PQLI Committee exemplifies ISPE’s strategic vision to connect pharmaceutical knowledge and deliver quality medicines to patients through shared expertise and continual improvement.

This award recognizes the outstanding leadership and support provided by a company as reflected by significant active participation in ISPE’s committees, Communities of Practice, programs, and activities as well as its support of employee participation in ISPE. Applications are encouraged from large and small companies of all types.
Gilead Sciences exemplifies corporate leadership, industry collaboration, and unwavering support of ISPE’s mission to connect pharmaceutical knowledge and advance the next generation of professionals. With 97 active ISPE members and six current committee leaders serving across critical areas such as the PQLI Patient Centric Specifications Team, Regulatory Steering Council, and Guidance Documents Committee, Gilead’s influence is both deep and far-reaching. Over the past year, 49 of their team members have been attendees at ISPE conferences, in which they have had speakers at four ISPE events, and contributed expertise that strengthens technical communities, regulatory insight, and global collaboration.
In addition to leadership and participation, Gilead’s US $200,000 donation has enabled hundreds of students and emerging professionals worldwide to attend ISPE conferences and expand their careers in pharmaceutical engineering. This authentic commitment to professional development, innovation, and community advancement embodies the spirit of partnership that drives ISPE forward. Emerging Leader Member of the Year Award
This award, given to both Carolina Serrano Martinez and Ryan Mazur, recognizes an early-career ISPE member who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and impact within ISPE during the past 12 months. This individual actively contributes to the Emerging Leader CoP, ISPE programs, or other activities, exemplifying a commitment to advancing ISPE’s mission and fostering collaboration.
Carolina Serrano Martinez is a visionary leader whose innovation, mentorship, and global collaboration have left a lasting mark on ISPE and the pharma-ceutical industry. As the 2024 Chair of ISPE’s North and South America Affiliate Council (NASAAC) Emerging Leaders, Carolina united student and professional members across two continents through bilingual webinars, regional initiatives, and cross-border engagement. She is the creator and driving force behind Mentor ISPE, a groundbreaking international mentorship program that has connected more than 300 participants worldwide, earning recognition in Pharmaceutical Engineering® and Life Science Leader magazines. Her ability to inspire and empower others exemplifies the true essence of ISPE leadership.
Carolina’s impact extends across education, innovation, and industry advancement. She founded the ISPE Texas A&M University Student Chapter, led the South Central Chapter Emerging Leaders, and now contributes to the ISPE Facilities of the Future Conference, where she organized the “Innovations in Manufacturing” track and secured participation from leading industry teams at Eli Lilly. Professionally, Carolina serves as a Senior Engineer at Eli Lilly, playing a key role in the startup of Lilly’s largest manufacturing investment in Lebanon, Indiana, and leading process transfer initiatives to Ireland. Through her commitment to mentorship, professional excellence, and creating pathways for diverse talent, Carolina embodies ISPE’s mission to connect knowledge, advance innovation, and develop the next generation of pharmaceutical professionals.
Ryan Mazur exemplifies the spirit of ISPE through exceptional leadership, innovation, and mentorship. As Chair of the 2024 International Emerging Leader Hackathon, Ryan demonstrated remarkable initiative, resilience, and vision—successfully leading a global team through planning, execution, and even weather-related challenges with professionalism and composure. His thoughtful problem statements, collaborative leadership style, and late-night mentorship sessions inspired countless participants and elevated the overall Hackathon experience. Ryan’s influence extends far beyond one event; he currently serves as Chair of the NASAAC Emerging Leaders, where he helps Affiliates and Chapters launch student programs, strengthen membership engagement, and share best practices across regions.
Ryan’s impact within ISPE and the pharmaceutical industry continues to grow through his leadership on multiple conference planning committees, his contributions to the ISPE Drug Shortages Task Force, and his active service to the ISPE Boston Chapter. Professionally, he is a Process Engineer II at Genesis AEC, contributing to award-winning projects. A true servant leader, Ryan empowers others through mentorship, education, and example, embodying ISPE’s mission to connect knowledge, develop talent, and advance innovation across the global pharmaceutical community.
