This spirit of unity reveals itself in countless ways, and I’ve been fortunate to witness it firsthand. Whether it’s a grant recipient being welcomed at a conference by a board member for the first time, program committee members collaborating to develop an impactful conference, or members connecting to solve pressing challenges, it’s clear how the power of us propels the industry forward.
Membership Milestones
2025 also marked a significant milestone in our membership journey. Five years ago, we set an ambitious goal: to grow ISPE membership to 25,000 by 2025. And you delivered. Thanks to our global network of more than 40 Affiliates and Chapters, that bold vision became reality.
Through international campaigns, creative local promotions, and a renewed focus on demonstrating the value of membership at the local level, our community grew stronger than ever. We took a global approach to understanding our members’ unique needs and tailored our strategies to support regional areas like China and India, recognizing that meeting local needs is essential to meaningful engagement.
With the support of dedicated local leaders, we expanded our global footprint with the formation of the ISPE Greece/Cyprus Affiliate. We also welcomed one petitioning Affiliate—Pakistan—and saw continued growth of the petitioning Middle East Affiliate: further evidence of our growing global presence.
Celebrating Innovation and Legacy
2025 was also a year of celebration. We commemorated the 20th Anniversary of the Facility of the Year Awards (FOYA) program with a black-tie banquet on Sunday 26 October. With over 400 in attendance, we celebrated the 2025 FOYA category winners and announced the 2025 overall winner. FOYA holds a special place in my heart, as it does to many of you. It’s a night where we honor the innovators, dreamers, and trailblazers who make extraordinary strides to improve human life.
We also celebrated ISPE’s 45th anniversary—marking nearly half a century of advancing pharmaceutical science and manufacturing. Over the past four and a half decades, ISPE has grown from a small group of dedicated professionals into a global community of innovators, educators, and leaders. We’ve built a legacy of connection, education, and collaboration, developing industry-leading Guidance Documents, hosting world-class conferences, and fostering professional growth across every career stage. This milestone is more than a number; it’s a reflection of the collective impact our members have made in shaping the future of pharma. From regulatory harmonization to emerging technologies, ISPE has been at the forefront of progress, and our 45th year was a celebration of that enduring commitment to excellence.
At the ISPE 2025 Annual Meeting & Expo, we introduced the inaugural ISPE Emerging Leader of the Year award through our International Honor Awards program, recognizing two outstanding winners during the Membership Meeting & Awards Luncheon.
Our Affiliates and Chapters had their own reasons to celebrate, including the 25th anniversary of the Singapore Affiliate Conference. This year’s event was the largest to date, drawing over 2,000 attendees from around the world. Several other Affiliates celebrated milestone anniversaries in 2025, exhibiting the commitment and impact of each: the 30th anniversary of the Canada Affiliate; Singapore, Nordic, and Iberia Affiliates all celebrated 25 years; the India and Argentina Affiliates celebrated 20 years; and the Philippines Affiliate celebrated its 15th anniversary.
Empowering Engagement
Through ISPE Engage, we deepened member engagement by launching a formalized volunteer portal—giving members a clear path to contribute and get involved. We also enhanced the MentorISPE program, allowing members to search for mentors and mentees directly through ISPE Engage. This puts the power of connection and growth directly in your hands, supported by new resources to help mentor groups thrive.
As we look ahead, the energy and achievements of 2025 remind us of what’s possible when we lead with purpose and collaborate with intention. Every milestone we reached this year was made possible by the passion, dedication, and innovation of our members.
