She joined ISPE approximately four years ago while completing her pharmacy studies and beginning her career in pharmaceutical manufacturing. As her career evolved, Yanet identified auditing as a key professional goal. Recognizing the importance of formal training and standardized best practices, she enrolled in the ISPE auditor course as a first step toward this transition. One year later, Yanet received a Professional Development Grant from the ISPE Foundation, which enabled her to attend the 2024 ISPE Annual Meeting & Expo and participate in the ISPE Hackathon in Orlando, Florida. This experience marked a significant turning point. Exposure to a global community of pharmaceutical professionals expanded her understanding of ISPE’s role beyond guidelines and technical documents. The event highlighted ISPE as an active, collaborative network where innovation, knowledge-sharing, and mentorship are central to the organization’s mission.
During this experience, Yanet decided to deepen her involvement with ISPE in every capacity available to her. She discovered that the organization offers numerous ways for members to collaborate and exchange value, including Communities of Practice, technical initiatives, and networking forums. These platforms allow professionals to share experiences, learn from one another’s challenges, and build relationships that extend across geographic and professional boundaries.
Yanet credits much of her professional growth to this reciprocal exchange. Through ISPE, she gained not only regulatory and technical insight, but also broader exposure to diverse career paths and industry perspectives. The connections she formed helped her develop a more strategic approach to career planning—learning how to set goals, pursue opportunities, and position herself within the global pharmaceutical landscape.
Nearly five years after joining ISPE, Yanet’s career has taken her around the world. At the time of recording her member spotlight video, she was working in Shanghai, China, conducting pharmaceutical audits. Her international auditing work spans multiple regions, reflecting both her professional expertise and the global reach of the ISPE community. Yanet attributes this international exposure in large part to the knowledge, confidence, and professional network she developed through sustained engagement with ISPE.
