Insights from Maeve Treanor, ISPE Emerging Leader, Commissioning Qualification Verification (CQV) Engineer with No Deviation
At the end of 2022, Maeve Treanor took a leap of faith and move from her home country of Ireland across the world to Singapore to work as a CQV Engineer. She decided to use this momentum to try and say yes to any opportunity to help develop her career in life sciences, so with the support of her hiring company, in January of 2024, she became both an ISPE member and an ISPE Singapore Affiliate Committee member. “Since then, my experience has been nothing short of fantastic,” said Treanor. “I have access to training resources and am kept up to date with exciting research and development in the industry. But best of all is the support and community where ISPE brings together like-minded people and sparks life-lasting friendships.”

As somebody who’s been a member of ISPE for almost two years now, I’m repeatedly reminded of the fast pace of innovation and technological advancements in this field. So fast, sometimes, that the industry is struggling to keep up. It’s so exciting to see the possibilities for advanced breakthrough patient care. My advice to anybody considering joining would be to think of it as an investment in yourself. It doesn’t matter if you’re a student or somebody with years of working experience. I think that there’s something for everybody.
As somebody who joined as an ISPE Emerging Leader, somebody with less than five years of working experience, I can say from a personal standpoint that this platform [ISPE] is invaluable. It can offer guidance and support and can be monumental in making decisions in the next stage of your career.
