Ciby Abraham, PhD, Senior Director and Group Manager, Project and Product Leadership, AstraZeneca, is Committee Chair for the 2025 ISPE Annual Meeting & Expo, ISPE’s largest event of the year. The event will take place 26–29 October in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA.
2025 ISPE Annual Meeting & Expo: What We Will Discuss
In the video above, Abraham shares that one of the discussions he looks forward to most is the Global Regulatory Town Hall. This session will bring industry leaders together with senior leaders from health authorities to discuss challenging questions such as, “How will AI/machine learning be incorporated in delivering the next generation of medicines more efficiently and effectively to patients all around the world?”
“Another topic of great interest is decentralized manufacturing,” shares Abraham. This is an opportunity to hear from the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agenda (MRHA), the regulatory body in the United Kingdom (UK) that is responsible for ensuring that medicines and medical devices are safe and effective for public use, on “how they came up with their model of manufacturing and supply and how they engaged with industry, academia, healthcare professionals, and international regulators to develop their framework.”
2025 ISPE Annual Meeting & Expo: What You Will Learn
In the video above, Abraham shares, “The attendees for this conference have an amazing opportunity to interact with industry and regulatory experts where they can gain practical knowledge on leveraging automation, AI, and analytics, which could potentially help them optimize pharmaceutical workflows, drive continuous improvement, and most importantly, learn strategies to accelerate digital transformation in manufacturing and quality operations to bring back to their companies.”>

Mentorship plays an essential role in sustaining and advancing the life sciences and pharmaceutical engineering industries. As new professionals enter an increasingly complex and specialized field, guidance from experienced practitioners can help transform academic knowledge into real‑world impact. ISPE has long recognized this need, fostering programs that connect students and early‑career...
Engineering does not change with press releases, conference declarations, or digital transformation slogans. It changes when the accumulated friction in delivery models becomes too expensive, too slow, and too risky to defend. Said differently, it changes when the inefficiencies that are tolerated quietly become liabilities that can no longer be justified financially, operationally, or...
